Plan
Nancy's Showcase Star blocks are a perfect way to feature a novelty or other special fabric in your next quilt. Besides the Teddy Bear quilt patterned here, she demonstrates the versatility of the block with her celestial, floral, and batik versions. All rely on "fussy cutting" for centering select motifs. See Selective Cutting Without the Fuss for easy instructions.

Floral & Batik Fabrics
Above - Any special fabric can be showcased using Nancy's pattern.

Right - Nancy's stars really shine in
this celestial version of her quilt.

Celestial Version

Nancy cut her checked binding strips on the bias for a lively diagonal look; begin with a 27" square of fabric and follow instructions on How To Make Continuous Bias (see Quiltmaking Fundamentals) to do the same if you wish.
