Plan
Sail away with this charming quilt. The white star print and yellow dot fabrics are sewn to the sides of each block and then trimmed to 10" square (Step 3), tipping each block slightly differently. This creates a sense of movement when blocks are sewn together. Because of the trimmed bias edges, blocks should be handled carefully to avoid stretching.

Sew
1. Referring to Diagram I-A, draw diagonal line on wrong side of aqua square. Place square on white-on-white 2" x 4" rectangle, right sides together, aligning raw edges. Stitch on drawn line. Trim and discard excess fabric; press open. Make 12 pieced rectangles. Repeat mark, stitch, trim and press process for Diagrams I-B, I-C, and I-D in fabrics and sizes shown. Make 12 pieced rectangles of each arrangement.
2. Sew pieced rectangles together with white-on-white strips (Diagram II-A, B and C). Sew white star print 8 1/2" strips to sides and 12 1/2" strip to top (Diagram II-D). Stitch yellow strip to bottom to complete pieced square. Make 12.
